NOCS FROM SOUTH EAST EUROPE MEET IN MONTENEGRO

Montenegro, 4th October invited by NOC president Dusan Simonovic, delegations from a dozen NOCs from central and southeast Europe met in Tivat on the Adriatic coast last 21st September to discuss the results of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The meeting, at which the secretary general of the Slovenian NOC, Tone Jagodic, gave a presentation on Europe’s results at the Games, prepared by EOC president Patrick Hickey, was attended by either the presidents or secretaries general of the NOCs of Bosnia- Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYROM, Greece, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.
The participants took advantage of the meeting so as also to discuss ANOC’s new role and lay down some objectives that in their opinion the worldwide association out to give itself.
In his capacity as chair of the European Games feasibility study group, Croatian NOC president Zlatko Matesa gave participants an update on the project, which is currently being studied by the EOC Executive Committee, of which he is a member.
In closing, the participants agreed to meet again in spring and autumn of 2013.
