2015 EUROPEAN GAMES TAKEN TO THE SKY BY AZERBAIJAN AIRLINES OFFICIAL PARTNER

Baku. 24th September 2014 – The list of the Baku 2015 official partners is flying… Organisers are today proud to announce that Azerbaijan Airlines, the national carrier, has signed an agreement to act as an Official Partner.

Azerbaijan Airlines become the sixth Official Partner of the European Games, joining P&G, Tissot, BP, Nar Mobile and SOCAR.

The deal will see the airline carry Baku 2015 branding and also feature on the airline’s in-flight movies and magazines to help increase awareness of the European Games with an international audience.

The agreement also ensures the European Games have a significant presence within Heydar Aliyev International Airport to welcome visitors arriving for next summer’s spectacular event.

Mr Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports and Baku 2015 Chief Executive Officer, said: “Azerbaijan Airlines help to connect our country with the world, so it is fitting that they are on board as an Official Partner of the European Games.”

The company, which carries more than 1.7 million passengers per year and serve 38 countries around the world, will next year increase their number of daily flights into Baku due to the European Games.

Mr Jahangir Askerov, President of Azerbaijan Airlines, said: “The Baku 2015 European Games represent a wonderful opportunity to bring the world to Baku to enjoy an elite sporting experience in Azerbaijan.

Mr Simon Clegg, Chief Operating Officer of Baku 2015, said: “Recognized internationally for the quality of their service, Azerbaijan Airlines are a perfect fit for the Baku 2015 European Games and further strengthen our existing sponsorship programme.”
