Filippo Bertoni is in the final five candidates for the 2022 Summer Piotr Nurowski “Best European Young Athlete” Prize.

At just 16 years of age, Filippo is showing great commitment and dedication to succeeding in his sport of swimming.

He had some fantastic results in 2022. His summer started with a gold medal at the European Junior Swimming Championships, and this was quickly followed up with an excellent performance at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Banska Bystrica where he won three golds and a silver.

Filippo certainly looks to be on the right path to be the next Italian swimming star. Across the last three seasons he has won 15 medals at the age group Championships but more than this, he is displaying the right attitude to not only succeed but also to be a fantastic teammate who is reliable and supportive to his compatriots.
