Italy’s Lorenzo Previtali has been nominated for the 2022 Winter Piotr Nurowski “Best European Young Athlete” Prize.
The short track athlete’s nomination comes after a memorable season, which included gold in the 1,000m event at the Winter EYOF Vuokatti 2022.
“It was a dream come true to win gold for Italy on the European stage” says the 18-year-old.
The young star also won three silver medals at the EYOF in the 1500m, 500m and mixed relay events.
The medals did not stop there, as he secured gold in the mixed relay at the World Junior Championships and came second in the overall junior challenge at 2022 Star Class.
“Italy has a great heritage in short track skating, and I want to follow in the footsteps of my heroes and create my own history,” he adds.
