2nd WINTER YOG – BE THE ONE TO CREATE THE LILLEHAMMER 2016 MASCOT!

Oslo, 5th March 2014 the organisers of the Lillehammer 2016 YOG, the second winter Youth Olympic Games, have just launched a competition for the creation of the mascot that will be the symbol for the Games worldwide.

The Lillehammer 2016 YOG, the motto for which is “By Young People, For Young People!”, has invited youngsters from across the world to put forward their ideas on Facebook between now and 31st March.

The ideal mascot needs to have the following characteristics: inspire the idea of sport, youth and joy; it needs to be an animal or a fantasy creature; evoke Lillehammer winter sports, respect the YOG vision, symbolise the YOG, and Lillehammer and Norwegian youth.

If you are between 15 and 25, no matter where you live, should you have an idea for a real or fantasy creature, which is nevertheless adorable, as every mascot should be, visit Lillehammer 2016 on Facebook and share your ideas.

You only have until next 31st March, after which a jury will short list three candidates to be submitted to a vote on Facebook. The winner will get a Samsung smartphone, but will above all earn the prestigious title of creator of the Lillehammer 2016 YOG Mascot.
