47 out of the 50 NOCs of Europe have already qualified for the Summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, with at least one athlete qualified for next year’s biggest world multi-sport event, ensuring Europe a total of over 2,500 athletes so far.
Many of them are medallists from the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, where they earned direct qualifications in archery, karate, shooting and table tennis. While many others from athletics, badminton, judo, and cycling are on track for Tokyo 2020, thanks to the valuable qualification points they collected in the Belarusian capital last summer.
There will be a Tokyo 2020 pre delegation registration meeting (pre-DRM) for the NOCs of Europe in Samorin, Slovakia, in May, alongside the 41st EOC Seminar.
The Summer Olympic Games are set to take place in the Japanese capital from 24 July to 9 August 2020.
