BULGARIA – STEFKA KOSTADINOVA RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT OF NOC

Stefka Kostadinova has been re-elected President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee for a new four-year term. Unopposed candidate, she obtained 49 votes out of 51.

Minister of Youth and Sport prof Daniela Dasheva attended the election meeting for the new NOC Executive Board, which was held on Thursday 23.

The 1996 high-jump Olympic champion has been the president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee since 2005.

At its first meeting, the newly elected Executive Board unanimously confirmed Belcho Goranov as secretary general.

Immediately after being re-elected, Stefka Kostadinova thanked everyone for the trust shown, and highlighted her closest priorities: greater activity in relations with federations, regaining positions of Bulgarian sport, more useful and active committees and auxiliary units of the BOC, strengthening managerial skills in sport governance, which could lead to higher income, performance at the upcoming Olympics in PyeongChang and in Tokyo, youth competitions, European Games and EYOFs.
