ITALY – CONI CELEBRATE ITS “ANGELS WITH HELMET”

The President of the Italian Olympic Committee Giovanni Malagò, together with the Italian Minister for Sport Luca Lotti and the President of the Italian Motorcycle Federation Giovanni Copioli, attended the awards ceremony dedicated to “Angels with a Helmet”, the volunteers who greatly helped during the earthquake that has recently hit the Molise and Abruzzo regions in central Italy, which took place at the CONI Headquarters on the eve of Easter.

Malagò presented medals to the motorcyclists and emphasized the importance of the ceremony and the role played by motorcycling, a sport that is part of the very fabric of the country. “We are proud to be able to host this event that is emblematic of the values of sport because it can testify how motorcycling has contributed to supporting the populations affected by the tragedies we have experienced in recent months in the center of Italy.”

Following addresses by the Sport Minister and IMF president, the spotlight shifted to the real protagonists of the day, the volunteers who have guaranteed the assistance of motorcycle units to reach impervious areas and allow the delivery of essential goods.
