Minsk, 12 May 2017 – Minsk 2019 CoCom Chair Spyros Capralos leads a delegation of EOC staff and consultants to the capital of Belarus for discussions with top level Belarusian government and NOC representatives around the Minsk 2019 European Games.

At the press conference at the start to the meetings, Capralos said that the EOC is extremely happy that there will be close cooperation between the EOC, the Government, the NOC and the Organising Committee, as this will guarantee delivery of a top-level event.

The meeting covers key issues, including the Organising Committee’s management structure and departments, in particular NOC Services and Games Services, the sports programme, dates, master-plan, venue overview, Athletes’ Village, TV production and broadcasting, and the logo and website.

The visit includes a venue tour of sports venues, and the Athletes’ Village, most of which is ready for use.

Minsk 2019 will break ground by applying the Agenda 2020 recommendations in terms of a compact event essentially based on existing venues, and with a budget that is sustainable for any big European city, so creating a blueprint that can be used for future European Games.
