DENMARK – NIELS NYGAARD RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF THE NOC

Ten years since he was first elected chairman of the sports organization, Niels Nygaard has been re-elected unopposed as president of the Danish Olympic Committee for another four years mandate.

After entering the NOC 25 years ago he had replaced Pressident Kai Holm in 2007.

Asked to highlight the greatest successes of the decade as president, he pointed especially on the good cooperative relations.

“On three important areas of cooperation,  relations never have been better than they are today, and that is a very important reason why the Danish sports is so strong at the moment” said Niels Nygaard and pointing to the relationship with the respective federations, DGI and Team Denmark .

Nygaard also sits on the current EOC Executive Committee.

NOC Secretary General Morten Moelholm Hansen has also been confirmed in his position.
