POLAND – 12th YEAR ACTIVITY OF THE NOC ART GALLERY

The Architecture exhibition by prof. Wojciech Zabłocki opened last Friday, as the 146th exhibition presented in the Gallery run by the Polish Olympic Committee in its headquarters since 2006.

Professor Wojciech Zabłocki is a well-known versatile and talented architect, architecture expert, academic lecturer, swordsman, writer and painter who reached awards both in the country and abroad, both in sport and architecture.

President of the Polish Olympic Committee, Andrzej Kraśnicki; vice-president of the Polish Olympic Committee, and IOC member  Irena Szewińska, together with  Kama Zboralska curator of the Gallery and a member of the Olympic Culture and Education Commission, co-hosted the opening ceremony and listed achievements by prof. Wojciech Krałocki.

Among the exhibits, mainly art models depicting sports facilities designed by prof. W. Zablocki there are two special medals handed over to the artist in the past 2017:
– Golden Laurel Olympic 2016 – for the overall work in the field of architecture and art – the most prestigious award of the Polish Olympic Committee established in 1967, awarded in four-year Olympic cycles in various areas of creativity.
– Honorary SARP 2017 Award – the most important award that an architect can receive in Poland. An award honoring the career, awarded for lifetime achievement.

Professor Zabłocki personally gave the ceremony a unique character by initiating guests into details and curiosities regarding the implementation of projects.

The exhibition will run until January 25, 2018.
