Candidatures for the 3^rd Winter Piotr Nurowski Award are open. To be eligible for the Winter Prize, young European winter sports athletes aged 18 by 31 December 2018, must be presented by their NOCs, in conjunction with the National Athletes’ Commission.

Performance achieved during competitions must be taken into consideration, but also the candidate’s particularly valuable behaviour, action and/or conduct in the fields of fair play, Olympic culture and values, friendship, etc..

The Prize, in memory of our dear friend and the great man of Olympism Piotr Nurowski, encourages young athletes to pursue a career in top sport, as well as inspire future generations to adopt a healthy lifestyle based on Olympic values and principles.

Since 2016 the Winter Prize is awarded at the Spring EOC Seminar, while the Summer Award takes place during the annual EOC General Assembly.

Since the Summer Award at the 46^th General Assembly in Zagreb (2017), not only the winner but all the best 5 European young athletes are awarded with a Trophy and a scholarship (First Prize of € 15’000; Second prize of € 8’000; Third prize of € 5’000; Fourth prize of € 3’000; Fifth Prize of € 3’000).

Candidatures will be received within 16 March 2018.
