The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced yesterday that the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee is automatically lifted with immediate effect, as stated in the Executive Board decision of 25th February.

The IOC confirmed the remaining doping test results of the Olympic Athlete from Russia (OAR) provided by Doping-Free Sport Unit (DFSU) delegation are negative.

Two failed drug tests by Russian athletes at Pyeongchang 2018 proved key in the suspension not being lifted in time for the Closing Ceremony.

Just three days after 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony, the OAR received a letter from the IOC about the restoration.

“The Russian Olympic Committee is fully restored in its rights”, ROC President Alexander Zhukov declared.
