EOC – LEGAL AFFAIRS COMMISSION GATHERS IN ROME FOR THEIR 1ST MEETING

ROME – The EOC Legal Affairs Commission held its first meeting of their 4-year term at the EOC Head Office in Rome, yesterday 21 June.

The Commission, chaired by Marc Theisen (LUX), was warmly welcomed by the EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi together with his Team.

The main issues on the table of discussions were the terms of reference of the Commission, the EOC’s Constitution/Statutes and By-Laws, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the implication to NOCs, Federations, Sports clubs, the Sports world in general in the EU and non-EU countries.

The Members also dealt with recent jurisprudence in Sports matters from the EU Commission, National (High) Courts’ decisions or rulings with impact on the Sports Movement included the as per-today situation to Article 40 of the IOC Charter.

This is the first Commission to gather following the new appointments, but others are looking forward to start working. Next meetings will be: the EYOF Commission in Lisbon, Portugal on 5 July 2018; the Gender Equality Commission in Rome, Italy on 11 July 2018 and the Marketing Commission in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on 14 July 2018.
