ALBANIA – JAPANESE DELEGATION VISITS THE NOC

President and Secretary General of the Albanian Olympic Committee (KOKSH), Viron Bezhani and Stavri Bello, welcomed two Japanese parliamentarians, Hiroshi Hase and Minoru Kiuchi, in a special visit at the NOC headquarters on 3 August 2018. The Deputies were accompanied by the Albanian Ambassador to Japan Gjergji Teneqexhiu and Japanese Ambassador to Albania Mokoto Ito.

The meeting took place in the framework of the promotion and preparations with the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The NOC’s President acknowledged the good work of the Albanian Olympic Committee ahead of Tokyo 2020.

Secretary General Stavri Bello continues its commitment to put forward concrete cooperation opportunities for the NOC, such as assistance for Olympic Education Projects in schools as well as training of officials and athletes in view of the Games.

The meeting featured also President of the Albanian Federation of Wrestling Martin Biba.

Recently, the NOC has also organised a special ceremony for the 8 athletes receiving the Olympic Solidarity grant for Tokyo 2020: Izmir Smajlaj  (athletics),  Luiza Gega (athletics), Evagjeli Veli  (weightlifting),  Nikol Merizaj  (swimming),  Jon Vrenozi  (judo)  Eriglent Prizren  (wrestling),  Elord cose  (taekwondo ),  Xhino Toli  (karate).

The scholarship agreements were signed between three parties: KOKSH, Athletes and National Federations. On this occasion, President Bezhani highlighted the continued support from the NOC to ensure athletes the best quality preparation ahead of the Games.
