The National Olympic Committee and Sport Confederation of Denmark (DIF) has organised a special bike ride supporting the veterans who still suffer from war-related mental health disorders, especially the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Ride4Rehab starts today, 28 August in Frederikshavn crossing 9 cities all over the country and culminating in Copenhagen on 5 September.

The initiative is part of “DIF Soldiers”, a valuable project that organises events over the year with the aim of helping physically or mentally injured soldiers by means of sport and social activities.

“Thanks to Ride4Rehab and DIF Soldiers project we hope to help surviving soldiers in their fight for an ordinary life” said Morten Mølholm Hansen, DIF Administration Director. “Sport and social inclusiveness are the strongest tools to assist people who fall in an extreme weakness status after a critical experience”.

The 45 veterans will have the chance to meet sport stars, journalists and politicians as well as to attend painting events in each leg of the ride.
