EOC President Janez Kocijančič met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on the eve of the 2^nd Coordination Commission meeting to begin tomorrow, 5 September in Minsk.

The Presidents discussed about progress with preparations ahead of the 2^nd European Games and the main areas of action.

Kocijančič thanked Lukashenko for the warm reception and commented: “In my opinion, preparations are going very well. You have excellent human resources. People have been working very hard and we are providing them with maximum support”.

The EOC President noted that the Belarusian President, who also heads the National Olympic Committee, is well familiar with sport issues. “I believe that the organisation is at a high level and Belarus will host wonderful games”, added.

Janez Kocijancic congratulated also the Belarusian authorities for launching the visa-free travel that will benefit the participants and visitors of Minsk 2019. “I hope you will make the best use of this opportunity to show the world a modern flourishing Belarus,” he concluded.
