A regional forum focused on NOC’s Games Preparation took place at the Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland on 18 and 19 September 2019.

The event, organised by Olympic Solidarity in collaboration with the IOC’s NOC Relations Department traditionally takes place the year before the Olympic Games and aims to assist the NOCs of Europe with their preparation in the lead up to the next edition of the Olympic Games.

This year’s Forum focused on the policies, procedures and plans in place to help teams best prepare for the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Technical topics such as Food & Beverage, Olympic Villages & Accommodation, Accreditation, Sports, Logistics, Transport, Medical Services, Anti-Doping, Cultural awareness and Marketing were discussed in detail.

The Forum was the perfect follow-up to the IOC workshop on how to shape the best teams for the Olympic Games, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia during the EOC Seminar on 11 and 12 May 2018.

In attendance from the EOC were Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi and Sport Director Peter Brull.

“A very important meeting on the road to Tokyo, this Forum completes a series of preparation milestones which included the Chef de Mission meetings, in loco visits, and our general assemblies and seminars,” Pagnozzi said in his welcome address.

“It is very important for the NOCs to be able to raise their concerns and questions on this wide range of topics, as well as exchange information on their preparation for the Games,” Brull commented after the meetings.
