The Olympic Academies Working Group met in Frankfurt, Germany on 17 September 2019.

After a welcome address from Chair Gudrun Doll-Tepper, who was also appointed a Member of the ANOC Culture & Education Commission, the group discussed possible ways to strengthen networks at European and international level in the field of “Olympic Education”.

Member of the Working Group Nataliya Melnikova, President of the European Olympic Academies (EOA) Manfred Lämmer and Director of the German Olympic Academy Tobias Knoch put forward a series of proposals on the activities that national Olympic academies and international organisation can implement to share knowledge and enhance cooperation.

Professor Lämmer reported about the history and the current status of EOA, focusing on a survey the institution is currently conducting in order to get an updated overview of the structures, programmes and resources available at national level. The EOA will hold its next General Assembly in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 15 November 2019.
