The European Games Minsk 2019 were named the Best Event of 2019 by Beach Soccer Worldwide at a glittering awards ceremony that took place in Dubai on 9 November.

The recognition is a great reward for everyone that worked so hard in contributing to the success of the Beach Soccer competition in Minsk, which proved to be one of the most popular events at the 2^nd edition of the European Games.

Bumper crowds turned out each day to watch the competition, which saw Portugal crowned European Games Champions after beating Spain in the final.

In what proved to be a good night for Europe at the World Beach Soccer Gala, Portugal’s Jordan Santos and Spain’s Carol Gonzalez were named Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year, respectively.
