EOC President Spyros Capralos attended the World Fair Play ceremony in Budapest, Hungary on 17 June 2022.
After being postponed twice due to the pandemic, the event was held during the 19th Fédération Internationale De Natation (FINA) World Championship in the Hungarian capital.
Capralos presented the “Jean Borotra – Sports Career and Life In The Spirit Of Fair Play Award” to Prof. Franco Ascani, President of Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) and Member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Education.
Among other things, Ascani is the organiser and animator of the “Milan Trophies”, athletics competitions for elementary and middle school students in the province of Milan with the participation of thousands of boys and girls under the slogan “Let’s start again with sport and with young people”.
“I was delighted to present this award to Professor Ascani, one of the wisest Italian sport managers of all times,” said Capralos. “This recognition gives credit to his unwavering commitment and contribution to the sociology of sport and its values.”
