Kirill Boliukh has been nominated as one of the five candidates for the 2023 Summer Piotr Nurowski Prizeafter overcoming adversity in Ukraine to perform at the highest level.

In August this year the diver helped secure a quotaplace for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 by taking the silver medal in the 10m platform synchronised diving competition at the World Aquatics Championships in Japan. This added to the two gold medals he won at the European Games 2023 in the 10m platform synchronised diving and 10m platform mixed synchronised diving. 

Kirill was delighted to be shortlisted for the award and said: “Diving motivates me to be brave and skillful, to overcome myself and develop using all the opportunities I have to bring glory to my dearest and heroic country – Ukraine. I will be proud to raise our blue and yellow colours high in Paris 2024.”
