EOC Executive Committee hosted by Bulgarian NOC

Sofia, 17th September Invited by Stefka Kostadinova, the President of the Bulgarian NOC, the European Associations Executive Committee has had its 3rd meeting of the year in Sofia. The members took the opportunity to thank Claudia Bokel (GER), ex-officio member and athletes representative who recently completed her mandate with the 3rd European Athletes Assembly held in Moscow.
From here on it will be the new president of the Athletes Commission, Olympic canoe champion Antonio Rossi (ITA) who will sit on the EC for the next four years. In order to ensure a measure of continuity, two members of the outgoing Athletes Commission – Inga Babakova (UKR) and Erki Nool (EST) have been co-opted onto the Commission elected in Moscow.
The Members of the EC discussed a number of issues of interest to the European Olympic Movement, and in particular the activity of the new EOC EU Brussels Office, the upcoming Olympic Congress, and preparations for the next Olympic Games and the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
By way of completion to the visit to Bulgaria, EOC President Patrick Hickey, Vice President Alexander Kozlovsky, Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi, and Treasurer Kikis Lazarides, accompanied by Stefka Kostadinova, were received by the Bulgarian Prime Minsiter, Mr. Boyko Borissov, together with the Minister for Sport, Mr. Svilen Neykov, and other Bulgarian officials.
