SWISS OLYMPIC APPOINTS NEW SECRETARY GENERAL

Ittigen, 30 August the Board of Swiss Olympic has appointed Daniel Suter as new Secretary General, following the resignation of Marc-André Giger.  Mr. Suter, who is currently the Director of the Swiss Transport Museum (Lucerne) will take up his new post on 1 march 2011

Daniel Suter, a top level manager well connected in both political and economic circles, will be new the new executive director for the Swiss NOC.

An expert in marketing and a PR consultant, he has been in charge of the Swiss Transport Museum (MST) in Lucerne since 2002, and has managed to turn it into one of the most visited museums in Switzerland.

Aged 50 and a keen sportsman, he has won a number of national rowing titles.

“We are confident that Daniel Suter will be able to profit from the experience gained in the world of business and use it for the benefit of Swiss Olympic and Swiss sport in general”, said NOC President Jörg Schild.
