BELGRADE PREPARES TO GREET OLYMPIC EUROPE

Categories: Misc.

Belgrade, 25 November delegations from the 49 National Olympic Committees of Europe will today be gathering in the Serbian capital where the 39th General Assembly of the EOC will start tomorrow.

For the coming few days, NOC President Vlade Divac, Secretary General Djordje and their team will be looking after the 300 participants expected. The EOCs annual assembly does indeed draw countless representatives from all manner of sports organisations close to Olympism. The key note guests will be the London 2012 and Sochi 2011 Olympic Games organisers; but also the host cities for the upcoming EYOFs (Liberec and Trabzon 2011, and Brasov and Utrecht 2013) together with the cities that have bid to host the 2015 EYOFs, the fate of whom will be decided in Belgrade Saturday morning.

This year, delegations from the 2018 Olympic Winter Games candidates Munich, Annecy, and Pyongyang have been invited to give Europe a final presentation before the elections at the IOCs Session in Durban next July.

A very busy agenda thus awaits our men and women of sport that, thanks to our Serbian friends, will be recompensed with some choice moments of entertainment as well.

Ahead of the Assembly, the Members of the Executive Committee will be holding their last meeting of the year chaired by President Patrick Hickey.
