including leading representatives from international and European sport federations, European and national sport umbrella organisations and other sport-related organisations came together to discuss topics relating to the new EU competence in the field of sport and its implementation. The EOC was represented by President Patrick Hickey (IRL), Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi (ITA), the Vice President of the EOC EU Commission Octavian Morariu (ROU), and Mark Theisen (LUX), the President of the NOC of Luxembourg and the Associations legal expert.

Particular attention was given to the European Commission’s new Communication on “Developing the European Dimension in Sport”, adopted on 18 January this year, as well as to projects selected within the framework of the 2009 and 2010 Preparatory Actions in the field of sport.
