NOC OF UKRAINE CELEBRATES 2010 SPORTS HEROES

Kiev, 6 April – Vasyl Fedoryshyn (freestyle wrestling) and Inna Osypenko-Radomska (canoe and kayak) were celebrated as the Best Male and the Best Female Athletes of the year, last March 31th at the National Academic Operetta Theatre, were the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine warmly welcomed for the fifth time the participants and guests of the “Heroes of Sports Year” Ceremony.

Those who in 2010 conquered the most prestigious sports podiums along with those who remained behind the scenes of great victories, day by day contributing to the development of Ukrainian sport and promoting a healthy lifestyle, gathered together to learn whose achievements were acknowledged to be the most significant by the Ukrainian Academy of Sport.

Representatives of the Presidents Administration, Ukrainian Parliament and Government, and famous Ukrainian Olympians of past years came to congratulate the sports year winners. The latter received exclusive statuettes, diplomas and gifts from sponsors of the ceremony, and the best male athlete and female athlete of 2010 were presented with cars by the Borys Kolesnikov Foundation.
