GOOD BYE OLYMPICS, WELCOME PARALYMPICS !

London, 27th August After the « Happy and Glorious Games » and a few days of intermission, the London Paralympic Games are now ready to take the stage.
The Paralympic Torch Relay started last Friday 24, with torch lightings in London, Belfast and Cardiff under the Agitos (Latin for ‘I move’) – the symbol for the Paralympic Games.
The flames will then be taken Tuesday to Stoke Mandeville, the spiritual home of the Paralympic Movement – where the first edition of Paralyzed Wheelchair and Amputee Games took place in 1948.
In that Buckinghamshire’s village, the flames will be united during a special ceremony to create London 2012’s official Paralympic Flame which will enter Wednesday night the Olympic Stadium for the lighting of the cauldron and the official opening of the Paralympics.
Once again,the eyes of the world will be on London. The 2012 London Paralympics open up next 29th August and close on 9th September. 21 sports are on the programme.
