WORK GETS BACK INTO FULL SWING AT THE EOC

Categories: Misc.

Rome, 4th September with the emotions of the London Games now behind us and after a few days of well deserved rest, everyone is now back at work and busily organising the meetings scheduled for the autumn.
The first will be held by the group charged with overseeing the various editions of the European Youth Olympic Festival, with an informal meeting in Brussels chaired by its president Guido De Bondt (BEL) for an update on preparations for the 2013 EYOFs in Brasov (ROU) and Utrecht (NED), and the 2015 editions in Montafon (AUT/LIE) and Tbilisi (GEO), as well as the Sarajevo (BIH) and Gyor (HUN) candidatures for 2017.
After a brief summer break the EOC EU Office in Brussels is now also back at work and taking part in meetings organised by the EU’s sports unit.
The Marketing and Communication commission will hold a meeting in Rome next 14th September chaired by president Janez Kocijancic (SLO), whilst the EU commission is busily preparing for the EU Sport Forum in Nicosia, which will be attended by president Patrick Hickey and Octavian Morariu, the team’s vice president.
Reports on all these meetings will be given at the this year’s third Executive Committee meeting, which will take place in Andorra on the 29th of September, on occasion of the NOC’s 40th anniversary.
