SAN MARINO WELCOMES EOC SEMINAR

San Marino, 15th May the Olympic Committee of Titan’s Rock, upon which purchases the tiny but proud millenary state of San Marino, will be hosts to the Olympic Movement of Europe for the duration of the EOC Seminar, which they have jointly organised with the EOC and Olympic Solidarity.
With the support of the EOC’s Rome Secretariat, the NOC has been busily preparing for the event for months, so as to be able to host to the best the 180 participants expected on the 16th of May. From then till Sunday the 18th, the delegations from the 49 National Olympic Committees of Europe will discuss topics of interest to the Olympic Movement of Europe, in plenary sessions, and also two workshops, one on the Olympic Solidarity programmes for the new quadrennial, and the other on Europe’s future sports engagements, the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Game, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and the various editions of the European Youth Olympic Festival. Another highlight will be the reports given on the state of preparations for the newly launched European Games, due to take place in June 2015, by the Baku 2015 Organising Committee and the EOC Baku 2015 Coordination Commission.
The works of the Seminar apart, our friends from San Marino aim to offer their guests the chance of feeling the special atmosphere that reigns in what is Europe’s third smallest state and doyenne of its republics, where the tradition of the crossbow has been a part of national culture since the Middle Ages. And let’s not forget the splendid food.
