Categories: Misc.

Rome, 25th August 2014 – the EOC Secretariat is back at work after a brief summer break, during which sport has been the focus, with the European association’s leaders in attendance.
With the Commonwealth Games having just ended, the Nanjing YOG has taken centre stage since 16th August and will continue to do so till 28th, bringing together 3,500 young athletes from the five continents in the name of sport, education and culture.

And August is a busy month for sport in general, including European swimming championships in Berlin, world archery championships in Zagreb, world badminton championships in Copenhagen and rowing in Amsterdam. The month will end with the world equestrian championships in Normandy, France, the basketball world cup in Spain and the volleyball worlds in Poland.

Following the summer break the EOC now have a very busy schedule ahead of them, with the 4th Baku 2015 CoCom meeting in Baku on 3rd and 4th September, followed by the 3rd Executive Committee meeting in Bucharest. And preparations are also underway for Europe’s participation at the ANOC meetings in Bangkok, and most importantly the 2014 EOC General Assembly in Baku at the end of November, not forgetting the logistical support given to the new commissions, relations with the Olympic Family and the various other organisations that liaise with the EOC.

A very busy start to the Autumn!
