BAKU 2015 EUROPEAN GAMES – NEW LOOK READY FOR 4th COCOM

Categories: Misc.

Baku (AZE), 1st September 2014 – Great innovations will this week welcome the EOC Coordination Commission that is travelling to the Azerbaijani capital for its 4th meeting since Baku was designated host city for the inaugural European Games.
First of all, the brand-new look that Baku 2015 unveiled a few days ago – a new look that proudly combines Azerbaijan’s history, heritage and culture with elite European sport.
Central to the new brand of the inaugural European Games is the pomegranate tree, which symbolises unity in Azerbaijani folklore. Interwoven with the branches of the tree are historical symbols of the country’s heritage and culture, along with eye-catching pictograms of the different sports and disciplines.
Inspired by the natural beauty of Baku, the colourful and striking new images will feature on venues, tickets, uniforms and all official merchandising for the inaugural European Games.
And there’s more good news awaiting the CoCom chaired by Greek Spyros Capralos, including some good progress on the communication front, with a relaunch of the official Baku 2015 website, which has been updated and refreshed, and the agreement signed with the Turkish television for the coverage of the inaugural Games, now less than one year away. On the sport programme, news is also expected.
During two very full days, the EOC CoCom will address a whole range of items with the Baku organisers, and a tour of the European Games sports venues is also on the programme.
