A NEW PRESIDENT FOR THE NORWEGIAN SPORT

Oslo, August 4, 2015 – The Norwegian Confederation of Sports has a new President:  Tom Tvedt,47 a board member since 2011. He was elected unopposed by acclamation last June 5, by the Sport Parliament in Trondheim. He succeed outgoing president Borre Rognlien

A former handball player, Tvedt is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. In 2007 he became county mayor of Rogaland, the southernmost of the Western Fjord counties. Before this, he was the mayor of Randaberg for eight years.

He also served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Rogaland during the term 2005–2009.
