SLOVAKIA – SEMINAR FOR RIO 2016 ATHLETE CANDIDATES

Bratislava, November 27, 2015 – the Slovak Olympic Committee early this week organized their annual seminar for athletes who are candidates for the RIO 2016 Olympic Games.

The seminar was attended by over sixty delegates, including candidates and athletes already qualified (reigning athletics World Champion Matej Toth, and flat-water canoeing World Champions Erik Vlcek and Juraj Tarr among them), coaches, and summer Olympic sports NF representatives.

It chiefly focused on preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, with a general overview given by the NOC sports department on the Chef de Mission seminar and NOC visits, on Games preparation and basic organizational information.

Detailed information on medical, anti-doping and health matters, acclimatization process and pre-Games training possibilities, mental preparation, and logistics for the team’s trip to Rio, as well as information related to the use of social media during the Games, were also provided to the participants.

The seminar also included a presentation of the Adecco Athlete Career Programme.
