Yesterday, on the eve of an Extraordinary General Assembly of the Hungarian Olympic Committee to celebrate the anniversary, the guests visited the NOC Headquarters and were treated to a spectacular gala evening at the Hungarian State Opera.
History recounts that, after the Red Cross Society, which was established by the Hungarian Holy Crown Countries in 1881, the Hungarian Olympic Committee is the second oldest public organization. Preceded by the French, Greek, German, US and Australian National Olympic Committees, the Hungarian Olympic Committee is the sixth National Olympic Committee to have been founded.

Hungarian athletes attended the first Olympic Games in Athens in 1896, and, besides two exceptions, Antwerp in 1920 due to WWI and Los Angeles in 1984 due to the boycott dictated by Moscow, Hungary’s athletes have attended every Summer Olympics, always bringing home gold medals.

Congratulations!
