SPAIN – COSTA DORADA TO WELCOME EOC SEMINAR

Categories: Misc.

Tarragona, February 16, 2016 – If the eyes of European sport are these days turned towards Lillehammer’s snow, its heart is waiting for spring and the annual seminar in sunny Spain, when Tarragona, the capital of the Golden Riviera, will welcome the 38th technical meeting of the European association next 20 and 21 May.
Spain’s NOC President Alejandro Blanco has generously offered Tarragona as host to the EOC Seminar, an event that will also allow the delegations of the 50 European NOCs to visit the site of the 2017 Mediterranean Games.
In preparation for the Seminar, on February 12 NOC Secretary General Victor Sanchez came from Madrid to welcome a small delegation from Rome for a site visit. The Mediterranean Games Organizing Committee, chaired by Josep Fèlix Ballesteros, also promised its full support for the success of the European Seminar.
Delegations will be accommodated at the heart of the vast PortAventura Leisure Complex, located south of Barcelona, which will also house the meetings of the EOC seminar.
No doubt the representatives of the European Olympic world and their traditional guests will appreciate the few moments that meetings and workshops in the programme will leave them to visit the surroundings, including the archaeological site of Tarraco, which has made Tarragona a UNESCO World Heritage site.
