SPORTS STAKEHOLDERS GATHER IN LAUSANNE FOR SPORTACCORD

LAUSANNE, April 19, 2016 – The 14th edition of the annual great networking gathering event officially kicked off at the SwissTech Convention Centre in the Olympic capital.

Approximately two-thousand participants – delegates from International Federations, media, cities, and the sports industry – are expected at this year 6-day gathering from 17 to 22 April.

Among the many scheduled meetings between Monday and Friday to host discussions and exchanges of views: LawAccord, the ARISF (Association of the Recognized International Sport federations) general assembly, ASOIF (summer Olympic IF) meetings, and MediaAccord a forum aimed at providing a platform to share experiences, insights and better ways of bringing sport news to fans, audiences, viewers and readers.

A Digital Summit will be organised for the first time at SportAccord, where industry leaders as well as the IOC representatives will address delegates by from Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
On Friday, the election of SportAccord next president will be the other highlight of this year gathering. The two candidates for the position are International Basketball Federation (FIBA) secretary general and IOC member Patrick Baumann and International Underwater Aquatics Federation (CMAS) president Anna Arzhanova.
