The President of the NOC of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Dr Vasil Tupurkovski and the Presidnt of the FYROM Basketball Federation Petar Naumovski yesterday signed a cooperation agreement for the next Olympic cycle, primarily aimed at training coaching staff.

This project, for which the NOC has already secured a USD 60,000 fund, will begin this year with the following activities:

– Branko Andrievska, coordinator of the FYROM Coaching Federation’s youth categories, will visit the Olympic Center in Colorado Springs and the University of Delaware (USA), and work closely with the leading teams, which will gain the necessary knowledge from a top basketball coach. Branko will also prepare for a FIBA coaching diploma.

– Olympic training seminar for coaches for youth and senior categories, which was organised last 15/25 June and conducted by Italian basketball coach and FIBA expert Giacomo Braida, aiming to improve their knowledge of special physical training.

The financial plan for the above activities will be fully covered by the Macedonian Olympic Committee, writes the official site of the NOC, stating that the projects have already been approved by the IOC and FIBA, who expressed great satisfaction with their quality and the cooperation between the NOC and the Federation.
