ISRAEL – SPECIAL LECTURERS ATTEND OLYMPIC DAY SEMINAR

The legendary Kenyan-born Danish runner Wilson Kosgei Kipketer, a former world record holder in 800m and 2 times Olympic medallist in 800m, was the guest of honour at the international Olympic Day, where he lectured about his personal view of the Olympic Games and their influence on his life.

Janez Kocijancic, Vice-President of the European Olympic Committee (EOC), as well as Honorary President of the National Olympic Committee of Slovenia, lectured on “The road to success – The Slovenian example”

The seminar took place on occasion of the international Olympic Day organized by the Olympic Studies Centre in cooperation with the Israel Olympic Committee, at the Academic College of the Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports in Netanya, 30 km north of Tel Aviv.

Igal Carmi, President of the Israeli NOC, and Professor Ronny Lidor, President of the Academic College at the Wingate Institute, opened the seminar, this year mainly devoted to the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Gilad Lustig, CEO of the Israeli NOC and Chef de Mission of the Israeli delegation to Rio, presented the Israeli delegation to the Olympic Games in Rio.
