EOC – EU COMMISSION MEETS IN BRUSSELS

The EOC Commission for European Matters met a few days ago at the EU EOC Office “the House of European Sport” in the Belgian capital city.

Its new chair, Juri TAMM (EST), together with Office director Folker Hellmund, welcomed the participants, come to assess the past activities and discuss the future.

The members received updated information on the main topics the Brussels office are currently dealing with: implementation of Agenda 2020, the Good Governance / SIGGS project, Funding for NOCs, EU Sport Model. EOC Athletes Commission chair and European Athletes’ representative Jean-Michel Saive also reported on the work carried out.

The participants also had the opportunity to meet with Yves Le Lostecque, Head of the Sport unit of the European Commission, and Bart Ooijen, former Chair of the Working Party on Sport, Dutch Presidency, who had been invited as guests speakers.

As a result of the meeting, the Commission will present a series of proposals to the EOC Executive Committee, while Chair Yuri Tamm will report in a few days at the 45th EOC General assembly in Minsk, Belarus.
