The International ‘Artek’ Youth Center in Ukraine’s capital city was host to the Grand Final of the 6th edition of the annual ‘Olympic Stork’ Project which is an initiative of Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee.

The main objective of the project is to promote Olympic values, an active lifestyle, friendship, respect and patriotism to school kids aged between 10 and 12.

The qualification process for the Grand Final involved thousands of kids in all 25 regions, who competed at several levels, including school and regional competitions.

300 finalists from all over Ukraine took part in a week of activities, which included not only sport competitions and intellectual and creative contests, but also workshops and seminars with Ukraine’s star Olympic athletes.

Three-dozen champions including 15 Olympic medallists shared their life stories with ‘Olympic Stork’ Grand Final participants.

The kids competed in the following contests – ‘Team Presentation’, ‘Sport Relay’, ‘Olympic Quiz’, ‘Artball’ game. The winners received their awards, but the unique experience and knowledge were the best awards for every participant.

In November 2016 the selection for the ‘Olympic Stork 2017’ will be launched at every country’s school with Grand Final to be held in a year’s time.
