UKRAINIAN OLYMPIC LESSON’S NEW SEASON

Ukraine’s main sport arena, National Sports Complex “Olympiysky”, hosted all-Ukrainian Olympic Lesson, an annual project of the National Olympic Committee, Ukraine’s Ministry of Youth and Sport and Ukraine’s Ministry education and science.

This year the event – supported by city and region administrations, Ukraine’s Sport Committee, Ukraine’s Committee of Sport for Disabled and “Sport for Everybody” Center – coincides with the National Day of Sport and with the European Week of Sport.

For twelve years in a row, this nationwide sport celebration intends to promote Olympic values, history and achievements of Olympic movement in Ukraine, while encouraging active lifestyle and harmonious development.
President of Ukraine Olympic Committee Sergey Bubka took part in ceremony accompanied by the representatives from the government, Parliament, national and non-governmental sport bodies. Ukraine’s elite athletes including medallists from Rio 2016 joined the celebration.

Olympic Lesson started with a true Olympic warming up and went on with numerous master classes, contests, relays, quizzes. Cherry on top was Olympic Fair where participants could practice different sports at specially equipped courts, get scores and then exchange the scores to Olympic souvenirs at Olympic market.

Launched in Kyiv Olympic lesson will cover all the regions of the country, where thousands of pupils and students will get the opportunity to meet and talk with Olympic champions and medallists, outstanding athletes and coaches to learn more about the history of the Olympic movement, his ideas and principles, to temper themselves not only physically, but also intellectually.
