The Erzurum 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival’s Organizing Committee underwent a demanding test on preparations when it hosted an inspection visit of the EOC Coordination Commission as well as the Chefs de Mission Seminar last week in Erzurum.

The OC presented all functional areas of the organisation and showed the progress to both the Coordination Commission and also to the Chefs de Mission.

Part of the Seminar was also the venue tour to all the sports venues, as well as the Athletes´ Village, planned VIP hotels and the area of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

All the venues are ready and can host the event as of now. The Chefs de Mission were able to experience the beautiful Palandoken mountains and sunny weather that is typical of Erzurum almost the whole year round. The Athletes´ Village is located to the University Campus that was built recently. The village is located around 1800 m above the sea level.

The Chefs de Mission were given the presentations that showed that the organisation is progressing well across all the OC departments. The OC will host the test events in all sports during December and January, before it welcomes all the participants to Erzurum. The City, that will be dressed soon in the Erzurum 2017 beautiful graphics, and its inhabitants are getting ready for the EYOF.

The EYOF will start in Erzurum, Turkey on 12 February 2017.
