The European Olympic Committees (EOC) 44^th Seminar will take place in Budva, Montenegro on 27 and 28 September as its members come together to discuss the most important topics in the Olympic Movement.

Held shortly after the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 came to a conclusion, the Seminar will look back on the hugely successful celebration of sporting excellence and on the lessons that can be taken from the first Games held in Europe for 12 years.

In addition to reports from future organising committees of the Olympic Winter Games and European Youth Olympic Festivals, there will be a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the opportunities and challenges it brings for sports organisations.

The National Olympic Committees (NOC) of Europe will discuss how they are already using AI to support their activities and how that can develop further, with presentations and panels on the agenda.

In addition, a focus on Sustainability and Gender Equality will see presentations from Rikke Rønholt Albertsen, member of the Sustainability and Active Society Commission, and Annamarie Phelps, Chair of the Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commission and EOC Executive Committee member.

EOC President Spyros Capralos thanked the Montenegrin hosts for their hospitality in Budva and noted the importance of the topics being discussed as Europe continues to play a leading role in sport.

President Capralos said: “As always, the Seminar provides the EOC and our member NOCs the opportunity to discuss the future of the Olympic Movement both in Europe and worldwide. Thank you to the Montenegrin NOC, led by President Dušan Simonović, for their hospitality and organisation.

“Following the successful Olympic Games Paris 2024, it will be interesting to hear both the positive feedback from NOCs and areas that they believe we can learn from for future editions of the Olympic Games and our own events such as the European Games.

“I am particularly interested in listening in to the discussions surrounding AI and how our NOCs believe it can help them in the coming years. There are many areas where I believe it can greatly assist our Movement and we want to ensure our members are prepared and informed.”
