The best athletes from the 2019 EOC flagship events will be awarded at the Association of the National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Awards 2019, which will be held in Doha, Qatar on 17 October 2019.

As this is a non-Olympic year, ANOC will hand over prizes to athletes who distinguished for their performances or have had engaging stories at the Games staged by the 5 Continental Associations who are part of the umbrella Organisation: the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), European Olympic Committees (EOC); Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC); Panamsports organization (PANAMSPORTS).

The EOC has indeed shortlisted 5 male candidates and 5 female candidates from the multi-sport events that were held this year: the 2nd European Games in Minsk, the Summer and Winter European Youth Olympic Festivals (EYOF) respectively in Baku and Sarajevo & East Sarajevo, as well as the Games of the Small States of Europe in Montenegro. The ANOC Jury will then decide the best male and best female European athlete to receive the award. Stay tuned to find out who will be the winners!

About the ANOC Awards

The ANOC Awards was established by ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and held for the first time in Bangkok in 2014.

The event was created in order to recognise the achievements of the NOCs and their athletes as well as distinguished members of the Olympic Family. Held each year, the event is an opportunity for the world’s NOCs come together in a relaxed and entertaining environment and enjoy an evening celebrating sport.

The awards presented each year vary depending on the sporting events that have taken place that year and are decided by the ANOC jury.
