The 2008 ANOC Merit Award was solemnly presented to Olympic officials on the occasion of the recent Beijing General Assembly for their great commitment to the Olympic Movement. Out of 18, three belong to European NOCs, namely:
Mr Zvi Varshaviak, President of the NOC of Israel.
Mr Armen Grigoryan, Secretary General of the NOC of Armenia.
Mr Victor Fonseca da Mota, Secretary General of the NOC of Portugal.
