AUTUMN OLYMPIC RUN IN ISRAEL

Tel Aviv, October 25 As many as 5000 runners participated in the Olympic day Run that took place at the National Park of Ramat Gan in the outskirts of the capital for the 17th time in a row. 4000 were soldiers, who participated in the popular race for 2 kilometres, whilst 1000 others participated in the 8 kilometre competitive race.

The start was given by the Vice President of the Olympic Committee of Israel Yehoshua  Gura.

The Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Israel Efraim Zinger said, “This is one of the most colourful, popular races and it is important for us to see so many young participants from kindergarten, through to primary schools, high Schools, soldiers, and adults of all ages. This race is proof of our success at increasing sports activity awareness among all age-groups in the population.”

Next years race will take place on 11.11.11.
