The first two days of Chefs de Mission meetings for the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 came to successful conclusions in the Belarusian capital on 18-19 June.

The Minsk European Games Organising Committee (MEGOC), along with the EOC Coordination Commission welcomed representatives from 47 out of the 50 European National Olympic Committees (ENOCs) who have already arrived in Minsk.

The Chefs de Mission were briefed on all functional areas and venues, which are all but one – the Olympic Sport Complex – already existing.

“All venues are ready and operational and are waiting for the best European athletes to compete,” EOC CoCom Chair Spyros Capralos said. “The Athletes’ Village is overall excellent as well as the overlay of the dining hall and kitchens is impressive”.

“The rooms are extremely clean and tidy. Volunteers in the village are everywhere and always ready to help,” also added.

European Games Executive Director Simon Clegg said: “I am very pleased with the feedback we received in this initial phase of the Games from the representatives of the 47 ENOCs here. They all were very happy with MEGOC operational management.”

A first press briefing was also held yesterday 18 June, while briefings for media as well as AVL Tours will be organised on 19-20 June. Over 1,000 media have been accredited to the Games.

The Main Press Center is already open at the Dinamo Stadium and all 12 sports venues are equipped with press centers.
