Croatian NOC signals commitment to athletes’ health with agreement

Categories: ENOCs

The Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) has strengthened its commitment to the health of its athletes with the signing of an agreement with five health institutions in the country who continue to provide support to the organisation.

The partnerships reaffirm the institutions’ commitment to supporting the HOO and will allow them to continue their work on issues surrounding the care of athletes both in the final lead-up to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and after the Games finish.

HOO Secretary General Siniša Krajač emphasised the agreements as a sign of the organisation’s desire to provide for their athletes and to give them the best possible chance to succeed.

Krajač said: “These agreements show the outside world how important these institutions are to us and the importance we place on health care for our athletes. Ahead of Paris 2024 while our athletes are preparing, this agreement act expresses our gratitude for the contribution they make with selfless commitment to the creation of top results for our athletes.”

After the Secretary General’s speech and the signing of the agreement, each institution was presented with a plaque signifying that they are a partner of the HOO.

Director of Polyclinic TERME-SELCE, Vlasta Brozičević, thanked the HOO on behalf of all the signatories of the agreement.

He said: “We have been waiting a long time for this plaque, which means a lot to all of us and will be an additional incentive for us to work for the benefit of our athletes in the future. You can always count on us, both in good and bad times, because we know what it means to work for sports and athletes.”

The signing of the agreement was also attended by Mimi Vurdelja, the HOO’s head of the health care and nutrition programme for top athletes, and secretary of the Health Commission.
