DAVID LAPPARTIENT ELECTED UCI PRESIDENT

Frenchman David Lappartient has been elected president of the International Cycling Union. The event took place at the 186th UCI congress, in Bergen, Norway, last Thursday.
David Lappartient, 44, thus moved from Vice President to President. The International Cycling Union, chose the Frenchman instead of Brian Cookson, who had been president since 2013, with 37 votes against 8.
Lappartient, who is also president of the European Cycling Union, is a member of the EOC Minsk 2019 European Games Coordination Commission.
